Paintball

Co2 Versus Compressed air

Co2 and compressed are gasses used to power the paintball marker (gun). Co2 is a gas that’s turns into liquid, so if used with electric paintball markers (guns) it can fry the board and freeze the paintball marker. Also one down fall about co2 is that when your shooting a small puff of smoke comes out from then barrel (round tube at the end of the paintball marker where the paintball exits from, once shoot)  that can give away your position. Also co2 doesn’t have consistent pressure. For example, on a cold morning your FPS ( Feet Per Second, used to determine the speed of the ball) is at 280, then starts to get warm, then your marker will be shooting at about 290-300 FPS. Or in reverse, it can drop to 260-270 FPS. That then will result in your shot dropping, which will affect your accuracy and game play. Co2 tanks are made from aluminum, and usually last from 5-10 years. Co2 is used with mechanical paintball markers (guns) and is very cheap in price $16-$26 compared to compressed air. On the other hand compressed air is known to be healthier for the paintball marker. It can be used with any type of paintball marker, mechanical or electric. Compressed air does not drop your shots. Once set to a certain FPS expect it to be their all day. That’s because the tank comes equipped with a regulator ( a metal like piece that gives out the same out put pressures on every trigger pull). Therefore making your shots accurate and hitting the same spot over and over. Compressed air tanks are made from fiber rap so their light and can hold a large amount of air. A down fall with compressed air is that it ranges from $80-$225 per tanks. Also depending on the tank they can last from 3-5 years before having to be Hydro tested (a test to check if the tank can still withstand high-pressure).
