Expansion chamber vs. Regulator
Both
expansion chambers and regulators are used to in a sense filter and or
regulate the air once its in the paintball marker. Lets start of with
expansion chambers, they are used with Co2 (a type of gas to power the
paintball marker (gun)). They come in 4, 6, or 8 chambers. What it is
there is 4, 6, or 8 cone like shapes that’s trap the liquid from the Co2
and only lets the air out to the marker. Therefore keeping your
paintball marker (gun) from freezing up and be damaged from the liquid.
Regulators on the other hand are used with compressed air (a type of gas
to power the marker (gun)). Co2 can’t be used because it fluctuates up
and down and is inconsistent. Also all the o-rings the regulator
contains will just freeze and ruin it. There are two types if regulators
internal and external. They both do the same job. That is to give out
the same amount of air for every shot boosting up you accuracy. There
are many sizes for regulators small, medium, or big. One isn’t better
that the other it just your own preference and how you want the gun to
look like.
